I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Hannibal LaGrange College in 1991. I taught kindergarten at Shelbina Elementary for two years before coming to North Shelby in 1993. At North Shelby I have taught second, third, and fourth grades. I also spent a year working with schools around Northeast Missouri as a STARR teacher. I have completed several hours of graduate level work and currently serve as the literacy coach for grades K-6. This position allows me to focus on what I love most- reading and writing with children.
I have been married for 34 years to Glenn Eagan, who is currently serving as the Presiding Commissioner for Shelby County. We have two grown children and four grandchildren. Courtney is a stay at home mom and lives in Monroe City with her husband, Aaron Benson, and daughters, Kyndal and Marlee. Jeremy is a computer programmer at Boeing and lives is St. Charles with his wife, Jenni, and sons, Caleb and James. In my spare time, I love to read (of course!) and spend as much time as possible with my family.
